microblading healing process day by day

Brow tattooing is famous not only because it’s fashionable. Firstly, it’s convenient and practical. After a microblading session, you will save time on the eyebrows’ daily makeup, hiding ill-fated flaws that previously caused embarrassment and discomfort and forgetting about the irritation and flaking caused by decorative cosmetics for a long time.

Among the many existing techniques, permanent eyebrow tattooing was and still is a widespread technique of brows tattoo. Most girls are already familiar with this technique; however, the question of microblading eyebrows healing remains suspended due to its implementation. The article will clarify how long the healing process takes day by day and what not to do in the skin recovery period.

For those who don't know already. What is microblading?

The classic feathering eyebrows (micropigmentation) represents the manual work of a master, who uses a microblading blade to make incisions in the skin in the shape of the hairs. Therefore, the small incisions filled with the pigment in the selected shade thus imitate regular hair. We have previously written about this technique.

Does it hurt to do micropigmentation on my eyebrows?

Microblading is a relatively painful procedure than powder eyebrows. The incisions made superficially affect only the upper layers of the skin. The traumatisation is significant. Therefore, the best way is to stay away from the inexperienced Artist with an untrained hand. In addition, an anaesthetic is required for this type of treatment. The best way is if anaesthetic gels are applied twice: before and during the procedure.
Because anaesthetics are mandatory, microblading is not recommended for pregnant and breastfeeding women. If a woman wants to beautify her eyebrows, it is better to wait for the child’s birth, after which she can visit the tattooist.

The question of pain sensations is somewhat subjective. Much depends on the pain threshold of the person. For some, the procedure is more painful than others. Either way, the anaesthetics will do their job, reducing the sensation to a lower limit. In our studio, most of the girls fell asleep during the procedure. You can also check out our page and see customer testimonials about the futility and painlessness of the microblading procedure.

If lactation girls want to get their eyebrows done, it’s best to opt for powder eyebrows. This technique involves minimal discomfort and can, if necessary, be done without painkillers.

How long does microblading take?

Eyebrow Microblading treatment duration approximately 1.5 hours, the client should lie with their eyes half-closed. At the end of the correction, the residual pigment artist removes the skin, eyebrows and eyes are wiped with disinfectant and sprayed with a healing spray. Master use special certified pigments; without it, the tattooing will not be permanent.

The beautician brushes the hairs, soothes eyebrows and gives recommendations on how to take care of them. After such manipulations, it is necessary to keep the hygiene of the treatment area and follow the care advice of the beautician.

If you’re considering microblading, be sure to do your research and find a reputable cosmetic tattooist who can give you the results. Microblading is perfect for blondes who want to enhance their natural beauty! This semi-permanent makeup technique can add definition and depth to your brows, giving you a polished look that lasts.

How Long Do Microbladed Eyebrows Take to Heal?

The time of skin regeneration and pigment absorption takes 28 days. During this time, the colour of the pigment and the sediment change. The colour changes from dark to light, and the sediment remains only partially. Ideally, 60-70 % of the sediment should remain, but this is individual. Sometimes it may settle at 20%, and sometimes it may not settle at all. It all depends on your body and how it has absorbed the pigment, which is a foreign compound.

The quality of microblading aftercare and preparation is also essential. It’s also important to listen to the recommendations of your craftsman, as he can see your skin type and be able to recommend specific actions to ensure that your eyebrows heal faster.
Try to follow all the preparation and skincare recommendations, and then you can expect your skin to fully recover after 28 days and your pigment to give the proper deposition.

The results of microblading eyebrow can last anywhere from 12 to 24 months, however, it’s based on many factors. “How long does microblading last?” we recommend our other article.

How do my eyebrows look after my treatment?

Only when you leave the permanent make-up salon will you see that your eyebrows are very dark – darker than you thought they would be. But there’s no need to panic; this is normal and as it should be.

The pigment is injected beneath the top layers of your skin in small incisions, so its colour is much darker. Over time, as it is absorbed and settles, the colour will even out, becoming lighter and more consistent with what you’d like. But in the period of the first few days, your eyebrows will be darker.
Therefore, keep in mind that it’s better not to get microblading on the eve of important events. If you have an event planned, get microblading done 5-10 days before it. During this time, the pigment will settle in more, and the eyebrows will become lighter. In addition, don’t forget that the first few days of open incisions will produce lymph, so combining the event with constant eyebrow monitoring will be, at the very least, uncomfortable. Read more about “Do i need shave and pluck my eyebrows before microblading?” and  preparation.

What are microblading healing stages day by day?

So, what to expect after the procedure? Here’s how the micro-blading heal process is day by day.

Day 1

You’re bound to be worried because when you walked into a permanent makeup studio, you had ugly eyebrows and came out with dark, dense ones that instantly catch the eye at first glance. The eyebrows look firm and well-shaped, and there may be a slight redness that subsides in a few hours. You do not yet feel any pain due to skin trauma, as the anaesthetic has taken effect. But you can already see that lymph is secreted, which you need to get rid of with a cotton pad and chlorhexidine.

Day 2

The next day you may feel some pain, as the anaesthetic has worn off and there are open incisions on your face. You may even be afraid to move your eyebrows or sneeze because the skin is thin and vulnerable. The lymph is still occasionally secreted and needs to be gently wiped away. The eyebrows remain dark, bright and the colour is rich.

Day 3-5.

The appearance of the eyebrows may change, becoming visually ‘thicker’. Pigment begins to set, and crusts may appear. You’ll want to get rid of these crusts, but you absolutely must not. With the crusts that you decide to remove by hand, you will damage the skin, affecting the pigment and the final appearance.

Note, if you want to get a similar eyebrow look after microblading but perform a more gentle procedure, it is better to resort to the hair technique. The principle is to trace the hairs, not with a manipulator, but with a traditional permanenting machine. The effect is similar to microblading; however, the side effect of tattooing is not as long as the maniple technique.

Day 7 scabbing and peeling process

You can expect more microblading scabbing, flaking, and peeling. During this period, the crusts will slowly dry out and fall off on their own, and it may become itchy. Avoid scratching your eyebrows, as the skin is still thin and can quickly get infected.
The colour of the eyebrows starts to change. The pigment gradually settles, and the eyebrows may have a varying shade, be partly lighter or darker.

11-21 days

The itching subsides, and the skin heals. The skin is completely healed by the end of the third week after treatment, but the pigment settling process is still ongoing. Don’t jump to conclusions about the final result. There is still a whole week in which changes can occur. But, in general, the appearance of microblading already gives an idea of how it will look after one month.

One month later

The skin is healed, no crusts remain, the itching is long gone, and the pigment has ultimately settled. The final result after the first micropigmentation treatment is already formed. Now you can see all the imperfections in your eyebrows. If there are any, you understand what the pigment colour will be in the next few years. Your task at this stage is to correct.

Why is eyebrows tattoo touch up significant after the microblading eyebrows healing duration?

It makes sense to say straight away that microblading brows after healing is voluntary. No one will force you to do it. If you think that after the first treatment and total healing process of the skin, your eyebrows are perfect, you can choose not to have them corrected at all if you are delighted with the final result. You may also decide not to correct before coming to the studio for your first eyebrow microblading treatment. If this is the case, you will need to warn the artist to choose a richer pigment shade to prolong the effect.

But correction is significant for two reasons after the treatment:

  • It refines the shape, the colour of the eyebrows. No one can predict in advance what your eyebrows will look like after the first tattooing session. Gaps may appear after healing, colour may become subtle, the shape of the eyebrows may become distorted. It’s all individual. The correction will entirely correct imperfections, saturate the eyebrows with colour and give them the correct shape;
  • Correction extends the duration of the effect. By reintroducing the pigment, the eyebrows become darker. It slows down the absorption of the pigment, which in turn prolongs the effect of the micropigmentation.
Do your microblading or microshading touch up at any convenient time. Masters recommendation to do the retouch for the first time in a month after the first procedure. It is possible to repeat the procedure in six months, a year or any period. It’s up to you depending on the appearance of your eyebrows and your wishes.

Microblading touch up aftercare

The following products should purchase aftercare eyebrow microblading procedure for the best healing process:

  • Micellar water;
  • Vaseline;
  • Cotton pads;
  • An ointment that promotes regeneration.

During the first 2-3 days, it is not recommended to be active or do sport. The treated area on the face must not be touched with the hands, wet with water or applied make-up until it has healed, at least for 24 hours. Sore skin should be cared for with disinfectant liquid, washing off protruding lymph twice a day.

The eyebrows can soak in boiled water on the third day after tattooin. Delicate crusts that may appear at the puncture points must not be peeled off and traumatised, as otherwise, scars will appear. The crusts disappear on their own after a week, falling off as they heal.

The duration of pigmentation will also depend on good UV protection. The sun’s rays contribute to the discolouration of the composition, so it is vital to use quality sunscreen and not to go to the solarium for about a month after the eyebrow tattooing.

For a fortnight after the procedure is necessary to forget about going to the sauna and not use cleansing exfoliants and scrubs.

Before the treatment, it is better to ask your vet for advice on how to take care of injured skin, and they may recommend products that provide better protection.
